Hazards:

Exposure routes - dermal contact, ingestion and inhalation.
Emergency overview: Extremely flammable. Vapours can cause flash fire. Contents under pressure. Susceptible to rupture if heated. Inhalation can cause headache, dizziness, drowsiness, nausea, narcosis and unconsciousness. Intentional misuse such as deliberate concentration and inhalation of vapours may be harmful or fatal. May cause eye irritation.

Overexposure effects:

Contains Ethylic Alcohol (Ethanol). Overexposure of ethanol can cause liver toxicity and central nervous system depression. Avoid using during pregnancy. Contains metal oxides effects of which can cause joint pains, liver and kidney damage. Contains Amorphous Silica, which can cause silicosis.

First Aid Measures:

  • EYES - in case of contact with eyes remove contact lenses (if present) and flush with plenty of water. If irritation persists beyond 15 minutes seek immediate medical attention.
  • SKIN - in case of contact with skin wash thoroughly with soap and water. If irritation persists beyond 15 minutes seek immediate medical attention.
  • INGESTION - Immediately rinse mouth with plenty of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Seek immediate medical attention.
  • INHALATION - Move person immediately to fresh air. If irritation or respiratory difficulty occurs seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting Measures:

This product is HIGHLY FLAMMABLE.  Extinguish fire by use of foam, carbon dioxide, dry chemical, water for or water spray. The product vapours are heavier than air and can travel along surfaces to reach a remote ignition source.

Aerosol cans may burst in the heat of a fire.

Fire-fighters should wear protective self-contained breathing equipment in areas where chemicals are stored. Burning may produce carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide, which are potential asphyxiates.

Release measures:

Prevent prolongs breathing of vapours. Wear protective clothing and use respirators safety equipment. Use only in well ventilated areas. Eliminate all potential ignition sources including but not limited to mobile phones, computers and any other types of electrical equipment, sources of spark, heat and flame.
Wash hands thoroughly after use. Do not eat, drink or smoke while using the product.

Storage:

Store all chemical safely. Do not puncture or crush the can. Minimum storage temperature 17c. Do not store in environments exceeding 30c. Keep away from sources of heat and out of direct sunlight.

Exposure controls:

Component Exposure Limit Source
Propane 2500 PPM time weighted average ACGIH, OSHA
n-Butane 800 PPM time weighted average ACGIH
Ethanol 1000 PPM time weighted average ACGIH, OSHA
Metal Oxides 10mg/m3 time weighted average OSHA
Silica, amorphous 80 mg/m3 time weighted average OSHA

Protective equipment:

Use protective gloves and clothing to avoid skin contamination. Use protective eyewear to avoid eye contamination. Use a respiratory mask to avoid inhalation. In particular, where work environments do not meet the specified safe limits a respiratory device should be used to comply with OSHA 19010.134, ANSI Z88.2
