2006 - Research

Our History 2006 - Research Having achieved our main goals from 2000 until 2005, during the first half of 2006 we spent a considerable amount of time, effort and money researching market developments, competition and available technologies.

Our research confirmed that we had clearly succeeded in our target areas, however, other market sectors had rapidly developed that the principles of the Evolution brand were not designed for.

In recent times there has been a significant growth in the number of users who have a low demand from laser technology: for example, a typical high school. Evolution systems were in some cases, we were told, perceived as being 'too good' - over engineered.

With almost any type of equipment, a higher performance machine inevitably means a higher purchase price. In the case of heavy commercial, highly demanding or industrial users the purchase price of the laser equipment is often of a lower priority than the machines performance and reliability. Low demand users were telling us completely the opposite: they didn't require a high performance product and often their budgets did not come close to the price that an Evolution system commanded.

It was obvious to us that the priorities of the differing market sectors required two very different approaches. Therefore, after extensive market research we decided to search for a manufacturer of machines that would be suitable for low demand users and of lower cost.
