2000 - 2001
By year 2000 we had installed six laser systems to the service sector of the company. The product range expanded to stock many more materials supplying new and fast developing markets. The type and number of laser system configurations we distributed grew from two to fourteen. Growing beyond the capabilities of the building in Basildon we relocated to Brentwood, 5 miles from our original site but closer to the M25 motorway for easy access. The Brentwood site was custom designed to a basic two level shell and incorporated the latest in IT and communications systems.
Our Service facet grew to cover new markets, too many to mention here. With new markets came new clients with ever more challenging and demanding applications.
The American manufacturer of the systems we had sold so well began to change with a high turnover of new staff and a significant change in priorities. We began to loose common ground with them. The technology that the product was based on was becoming old and significantly in a short period of time it had become very unreliable. We had to find a new product and fast.
We decided to investigate alternative manufacturers who could supply systems generally more advanced, more reliable and more capable to suit the fast developing client base we were building.
